Overlooking the beach close to the leisure centre the Winter Gardens used to provide all year round entertainment including line dancing, tea dances and nostalgia dances. It was a popular venue for wedding receptions and other functions with it's public bar and bistro. It was once famous for the bags ball party on a Wednesday night.
Sadly for many locals in 2007 it was closed and demolished.
